DCD - Juvenile Green Crab

The mold for this pewter casting was taken from a juvenile green crab found in Wellfleet, Cape Cod. In spite of their colorful name, green crabs come in a wide variety of colors and are often mottled with blue, green, red, and white. Green crabs can be found from Canada to Chesepeake Bay. These omnivorous crabs occur in many habitats, ranging from Bay eelgrass beds to rocky shores and pilings. They are native to Europe and were introduced to America in post-colonial times by ships
