The molds for these pewter castings are taken from actual sea creatures that washed up on Cape Cod beaches. The castings are created in an alloy consisting of 95% tin, 4% antimony and 1% silver. This alloy yields a beautiful casting, which is polished by hand.
Jeff Mitchell, the guy who makes these castings, is a retired Electrical Engineer who now lives in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, Mass. While still working in the Boston suburbs, Jeff took up metal casting as a hobby, and now recreates sea creatures in a high grade, lead-free pewter.
