Barclay Butera

Barclay Butera

“The Barclay Butera transitional style began by combining the look of late British Colonial Empire with French Country, Far East, and American traditional influences, and blending furniture and pattern-on-pattern fabric designs in warm colors. He then adds his transitional twist to the scene, expressing casual elegant living. More and more, he is inspired by the Hollywood Regency era which emphasizes clean, classic, tailored lines and fabrics. Says Barclay, who has changed the rules of interior design by deviating from ‘matched sets:’ “I am a believer in mixing the old with the new. It’s important to allow yourself to keep things that mean something to you, and to integrate your heritage. We try to ensure there’s some generational aspect to the interior, and then apply a hip twist to it. It’s like designing fashion for the home.”
